Schedule:                       Monday – Friday 7:30am-4:00pm 
Reporting Days:            190, 10 months 
Compensation:              Salary 
Starting Pay:                  $54,000 - $71,000; DOE
Start Date:                      July 28, 2025

Minimum Qualifications Required:

Education:         Bachelor's degree in nursing or related degree.
Experience:       No experience required; 3 years’ experience in education preferred.
Certification:     
CPR/AED/First Aid Certification, Registered Nurse License
Background:     Clear FBI background check.
Language:         Strong verbal and writing skills in English; Spanish fluency preferred.

Job Duties 

Essential Duties 
  • Assess and support individual student health needs. 
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate procedures and programs to assess the health status of students with disabilities including immediate and chronic health problems. 
  • Collaborate with students and parent(s)/guardian(s) to develop individual health plan (IHP) for students with chronic health concerns, as needed. 
  • Maintain health records and a system of documentation of student health office activities, administration of medication and specialized health care procedures for students. 
  • Participate is the special education team, completing the health portion of special education evaluations and Individual Education Plans: identifying students with disabilities who are at risk educationally through health appraisals, health histories, records and screening programs. 
  • Communicate with other health professionals, as needed, to secure proper documentation of current diagnosis and plan of care.  
  • Disseminates information to other staff members, on a need-to-know basis, to ensure student safety and accommodate student needs. 
  • Work collaboratively with special education social workers to assist students and families in identifying and utilizing available and appropriate community resources. 
  • Initiate, update, and periodically review student health records of students with disabilities following federal, state and district policies. 
  • Serve as a member of the Crisis Management Team. 
  • Serve as a member of the school Wellness Committee.

Communication 

  • Communicates professionally with students, parent/guardians and the community.  
  • Communicates regularly with school leadership.

  • Actively participates in critical school events, including staff meetings, open houses, parent teacher conferences and more.
